Meet Dr. Michael Kostura, O.D. (Trabuco Canyon, CA)

Dr. Kostura is passionate about caring for his patients! Born and raised in San Diego, CA, he has been practicing at Dove Canyon Optometry since July, 2003. Dr. Kostura loves helping patients of all ages see their very best. He has experience diagnosing and managing ocular conditions and fitting patients with custom contact lens options.

He has been married to his optometry school sweetheart, Dr. Sonia Kostura, since 2001. They reside in Anaheim Hills with their 2 daughters - Tiana and Aliyah. In his spare time, Dr. Kostura enjoys backpacking, music, and independent coffee roasters. He enjoys helping patients maintain healthy vision to support daily life and activities.

Dr. Kostura is a very caring, thorough, and knowledgeable doctor. He takes the time to listen to you... r concerns and thoughtfully answers all your questions. The young woman who performed my eye examination (I wish I could remember her name) was also wonderful and very thorough, making sure to gather all the necessary information. Unfortunately, my experience with the staff member who collected the payment at the end was not as positive. Dr. Kostura and I both asked her to email my eye measurements directly to my cataract surgeon. She simply said she couldn’t do that and handed me printed copies of the results to deliver myself. As a healthcare provider, I understand how the medical system works, and I see no legitimate reason to refuse a patient’s request to have their medical records securely transferred to another medical office with their authorization. Her response came across as either unwillingness to go the extra mile or an unnecessary attempt to control a process that should be straightforward. I truly appreciate Dr. Kostura and the examination staff, but I hope management addresses this aspect of the patient experience.

I really appreciate Dove Canyon Optometry. A couple years ago they spotted a problem with my eyes th... at led to me getting some necessary treatment and helped me prevent more issues with my eyesight down the line. Really thankful for their help with that, and their thoroughness whenever I go in for an appointment. Oh, and the whole staff is always really nice!
